My weekend was not very interesting. On Friday night my mom took me to the mall and I got some flip flops. I also got some new shorts. On Saturday my grandma, my mom, and I went to a plant store. I got the Bleeding Heart. (It's white). Then on Sunday I rode my bike to my school and played there for a few minutes. Then when I got home, I played basketball. I played for about an hour on Sunday. On Sunday night my grandma and my grandpa came over and ate some food with us for Mother's Day. That was pretty much my weekend. Thanks! ;)
Here is my sponges video that I made in science. I hope you enjoy! ;)
Today Mac Barnett came to visit our school. He read to us and also told lots of jokes. (He is very funny) If you are wondering how much authors get paid... here is your answer... About $0.75 per book. (Picture books) Not much, but A LOT of people buy books. Think about it this way... If Mac Barnett sold 100 books he would get $75.00. (Yes, I know that is not a lot, but that is only 100 books.) If more people got books he would get even more money. 'Why does he like being an author?' -1. He likes that he can wake up whenever he wants. 2. He likes books... and kids. 3. He like reading books. FUN FACT: Mac Barnett is 32 years old. ;)
On Tuesday and Wednsday my class went on two field trips. On Tuesday we went to the Iowa Capital. *At the bottom is a picture inside looking up, and a picture of the Capital outside. I learn a lot at the Captial. I learned that once there was a fire in the Capital building. A man (forgot his name) closed two doors to block out most of the air in the room to stop the fire. It worked! A few days later the same man went up to were the fire was. He steped on a plank that got damaged. Since he was so high he fell to his death. Later at OUR visit we had the chance to go the top. (The whisper dome) We had to climb 100 steps to get to the top but it was worth it. (It is called the whisper dome because you have to whisper when you are up there because the sound carries down and a lot of people could hear you.) It looked really cool from up there, but I would STRONGLY suggest to NOT use your camera up there. Ps. ALL of the building was made from hand!!!!! ... and yes all the gold is real.
On our second field trip my class went to the Des Moines (Da-Moin) Art center. I thought that all the art work there was pretty cool! I saw a lot of interesting paintings. We also went to the Des Moines Sculpture park. My favorite sculpture was the big spider sculpture. I liked how big it is. I also like how it stands up. (It stands on thin legs) The sculpture park is open everyday and the Art Center is open everyday but Sunday. )You should go sometime!) All of the sculptures were different in every way. I also really like the white tree. It was molded by a 200 year old tree. Then it was painted white. I hope you enjoyed this post and you go to those two places! :)
Again... here is my weekly definitions video, I hope you enjoy! :)
My family and I went to Illinois for Easter. We went to my grandma and grandpa's house. After one day we went to church in the morning. Then we came back and did a Easter egg hunt at their house. After I looked for all 39 eggs, we got ready for the potluck with other family. At the potluck we went on a Easter egg hunt. I found most of them. After that we went home, but I slept most of the way so I did not have to look out the window the whole time. Went I got home I played basketball, I looked over and found two ducks. (I think they liked our yard) -- The next day I found three ducks. A female, and two males. The two males started fighting for the female. (It ended badly for one male duck) That was pretty much my weekend. Thanks!

Here is a "Powtoon" on the Boston Tea Party. I hope you like it! :)
Over spring-break I got my braces on. It took about an hour to get them on. They hurt for about four days. I got the colors Lime Green and Hot Pink. I also read this break. I read the 2nd Harry Potter book and am about half way through it. It is really good. Harry Potter is a boy who goes to a wizard school, and has lots of adventures. I also went over to my Grandma and Grandpa's house and stayed over night. Oh, and I also watched TV.
