Today at school, Samuel Menongar which lives in Konde Farm, Africa came and talked to us about how life is in Africa and all the hard situations they have to deal with, and we don't in the United States. He is from Sierra Leone. Last year our school raised more than 1,700 dollars for a well in Sierra Leone, and we are going to do something this year to help out with another thing they need and donations like clothes, cans of food, and maybe donated rice for them to eat. people in Seirra Leone have to boil water or concatenate it to drink it because they don't have much clean water.
Samuel Menongar told us that there is not a easy way to get around because some people have cars but most don't and some ride the bus."Cars look different there then they do in the United States," he said. Samuel also said that the kids in Sierra Leone are just like us and go to school like us but all the schools give the kids uniforms to wear because they can't afford to buy clothes. The floors at their school's are sometimes dirt and are not clean and they have to squat to go the bathroom and wash their hands in a bucket with soapy water.
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
What this means to me:
If you want a change in the world, you should do it because if you don't no one will, and you need to be strong and do what you believe in. You could clean up trash you see on the ground or help someone if they need help with something.
School's in Sierra Leone are different from the ones in the United States because they have dirt floors and the school is proboly not to clean.
Samuel said that Americans are lucky and sometimes they don't NEED ALL the things they have because you are lucky to have them.
